The ATAGO RX-5000 Series Digital Refractometer Models provide the ultimate in
digital accuracy and precision for the Refractive Index (nD) and Brix testing
of dissolved solids.
Easy to use. Operation consists of placing a sample on the prism, pressing
the START button and in 4 seconds the result is displayed on the large LCD screen.
The unit automatically calibrates with water - a zero indicator lets the user
know the unit is properly calibrated.
High Precision. Featuring wide ranges and high resolution / accuracy for
both Refractive Index (nD) and Brix, the RX-5000 Series Models offer the highest
level of precision available in a digital refractometer.
Digital Accuracy. The LCD digital display and push-button operation both
enhance overall precision - no dials to turn, no analog scales to read.
Professional Features. Large menu-driven LCD display; push-button operation;
contrast setting for the display; wait-time setting (0-99 seconds); measurement
history; centronics printer port (parallel); RS-232C computer port (serial); built-in
clock displaying date and time.
Programmable User Scales. In addition to the Brix, Refractive Index (nD)
and Refractive Index (nDt) scales, 5 programmable user scales are available for
the custom concentration levels of specific solutions.
LED Light Source. The long-lasting LED light source with a 589 nm interference
filter is intended to last the life of the instrument.
Prism Temperature Control. Featuring two circulator nozzles for the prism
and 2 for the flow cell , all models can be connected to a circulating bath to
accurately regulate prism temperature. The prism temperature is displayed on the
LCD display. The effective temperature range is 5 - 60°C.
Automatic Temperature Compensation. All models feature Automatic Temperature
Compensation for the Brix scales with 20°C as the reference temperature. The Refractive
Index (nDt) scale is also temperature compensated, but the reference temperature
can be changed from 5 - 60°C; a coefficient (slope), with regard to the reference
temperature can also be entered. The effective compensation range for both the
Brix and Refractive Index (nDt) scales is 5 - 60°C.
Note: The refractive index (nD) scale is not temperature compensated.
