HI 301N and HI 311N are heavy-duty stirrers that offer dual range precision. HI 301N can stir up to 2.5 liters (0.66 gallons) of liquid and HI 311N can stir up to 5.0 liters (1.3 gallons). Similar to the "ZOOM" function of a microscope, these stirrers allow access to two separate stirring ranges. In each range, the speed can be fine tuned for exacting accuracy. This assures maximum repeatability in experiments and processing for laboratory, as well as production use. In addition to speed control, a limiter will assure that the maximum speed will never be exceeded (Speedsafe^TM). If the sample is accidentally removed from the stirrer before reducing the speed on a conventional stirrer, the motor would accelerate until it becomes destroyed. Hanna stirrers incorporate a VCO device that will stop the motor from accelerating as soon as the load is removed. In addition to these features, HI 311N also has an automatic feedback feature. The motor is electronically controlled to maintain the chosen speed as the load changes. If the viscosity or the level (fluid weight) increases or decreases, the circuitry will adjust the output power.
