The one piece "SCOOP MASTER" thermometer was developed by ERTCO® to more accurately measure the temperature of petroleum products. The volume (hence the value) of petroleum products dramatically increases or decreases with the changes in temperature. Due to design characteristics the "SCOOP MASTER" has become the most widely used tank gauging thermometer in the field. WOOD BACK: ERTCO'S® Wood Back thermometers have been designed to sample a wide variety of products. They are made from hardwood that is lacquered to prevent absorption of the sample. The brass cup is non-sparking and has a capacity of 100ml, which meets with both ASTM and API requirements. The thermometers furnished with these cases are identical to those supplied with the "Scoop Master". They are mounted with spring clips and can be replaced without tools.
